The rice's cultivation in northern Italy has been introduced, with every probability, in the second half of the fourteenth century. In the mantovana countries it is already documented the cultivation of the rise in the dominoes of the Gonzagas in the period of Frederich II (1500-1540). Only in the left side of the Mincio, toward the half of the seventeenth century, resulted cultivated to rice around 8.300 biolche, to say more than 2.600 hectares.
Of the rice are known the
astringent,
refreshing and
detoxify ownerships, suitable for the care of hypertensions, cardiac and renal illnesses; it is also proper for the feeding of the babies.
